The energy and enthusiasm of this incredible crowd of women (of all different ages and ethnicities) along with unbelievably tasty South African sustainable cuisine, made the Green Beauty Brunch at Kaia Wine Bar in New York City one of my most favorite events ever!
I mean, someone actually got teary eyed over seeing the incredible difference a few tricks in makeup could really make.
I showed them in a matter of minutes how easy it was to turn back the clock, highlighted inherent beauty, and get a more modern, fresh look all with natural, green makeup – and we had a blast!
It wouldn’t be a Kristen Arnett workshop if there wasn’t A LOT of makeup demonstration going on. I was especially overjoyed that we had an expectant mom in the audience and I hope our discussion of green beauty raises the bar for her entire family to be able to live a healthier life. Happily she left with more than just an expecting glow when we were done.
You could just take my word for how life-changing this brunch was, but I’ll share with you just a couple of the beautiful comments I received afterwards:
Kristen’s beauty brunch was the opportunity I didn’t even know I’d been looking for.
We all have questions about makeup-whether we use a lot or a little-and she was so knowledgable on absolutely everything-from the basics to glam! It was clear that her extensive experience in the makeup industry has given her an in depth knowledge that many of us can learn from.
In addition, she has an amazing way of being informative without intimidating or being condescending!
The “green movement” can be overwhelming and she broke it down for us in a way that was easy to understand and implement. Everyone wants their skin to look as amazing as possible-and most of us need to do it on a budget. Her tips and adjustments were realistic and her products were WONDERFUL! I couldn’t wait to buy the products from her collection and use them knowing they looked amazing AND weren’t harming my skin! Thanks Kristen! –Valerie Lynn Williams
Thank you so much for the valuable make up knowledge and little tricks to bring out the beauty in each of us!
I have to admit at first I thought 4 hours for a light lunch and a talk about make up was a lot. I was planning on coming in having a little lunch and saying hi and out the door and back home within a couple of hours!!!
As you could tell, I’m not comfortable putting make up on and therefore don’t really wear it. I would like to but just never learned how to make it look worth the time of putting it on!
So when I got in the hot seat and you just did a little magic on my eyebrows, concealer under my eyes and a little cheek color all of a sudden on the inside I felt a little pretty for the first time in many many years!!…And with putting healthy things on my face, it’s a plus! I had an amazing time and learned so much. – D.
So yes, there was LOTS of makeup.
And LOTS of incredible food (I am still dreaming of these tasty bites).
It’s with enormous gratitude that I thank all the attendees, the team at Kaia Wine Bar and especially Jackie Covas who made this happen in such a fabulous way.
